Interchange Wins the Fastest Airport Commercial Team Award Once Again

On August 31, 2024, the Liszt Ferenc International Airport hosted the BUD Runway Run charity race for the twelfth time.

This year, as in previous years, Budapest Airport donated all the proceeds from entry fees to charity, supporting the SUHANJ! Foundation and the Ments Életet Public Benefit Foundation. Thanks to the success of the event, organizers have donated more than 100 million forints over the past twelve years.

The Runway Run traditionally symbolizes the unity of the aviation industry, but in addition to media representatives, well-known public figures and distinguished athletes also actively participate. Alongside distances organized for adults and children, the “Joy Run” category opened again this year, allowing the youngest participants to run for the sheer pleasure of movement, either independently or accompanied by parents.

At 4:00 p.m., the adult runners set off on their chosen distances, which this time followed a new route. The race started from the engine test area, then left the closed Runway I and passed by airport hangars, including a stop at the Tu-154 aircraft, previously part of the Malév fleet and recently renovated, now managed by the Aviation Cultural Center (LKK). In this way, participants not only completed their charitable run in a unique location, but also got a glimpse into areas rarely seen up close.

The Interchange team participated in the race for the 8th time. Despite the 36°C heat, the company’s seven enthusiastic runners (Máté Csaba, Maglódszki Renáta Ágnes, Viczkóné Tóth Szandra, Forgácsné Klem Zsuzsanna, Somoskövi Petra, Borhi József, Pocsai Viktor) won the “Fastest Airport Commercial Team” trophy for the second year in a row.

Thank you to the team for representing our company in such an excellent way!
