Interchange’s Joint Venture with the Zambian Post Office – ZamPost – has opened its first location in the bustling Cairo Road Post Office in Lusaka, the capital of Zambia. There has been an immediate and encouraging demand for its Western Union service.
The money transfer service will now be rolled out to 9 additional post offices in the Capital – Lumumba Road, Freedom Way, UNZA, UTH, National Assembly, Northmead, Chelstone, Ridgeway and Woodlands. Over a 100 regional ZamPost branches will be activated in the first half of 2021.
With Zambia being hard-hit by the Covid-19 Pandemic, a reliable, fast, and competitive money transfer service through the widest and most convenient network is absolutely vital in order for migrant workers to be able to provide indispensable financial support to their families. The strengths of the two parties – ZamPost, with its instantly recognisable brand, talented workforce and national presence, and Interchange, an international specialist in money transfer and foreign exchange, are perfectly aligned to make ZamPost the money transfer powerhouse of Zambia.
